Skinniest People in the World – Top 5 People

It’s amazing to see how different people can be – from the tallest, the biggest, the smallest, and now the skinniest. I ran into some articles yesterday about these people and then I wanted to write an article about them.  Some are suffering from anorexia, while others are suffering from a rare disease.

That article inspired me to write this article about the five skinniest people in the world, dead or alive. I hope this article can broaden our perspectives of the world. that people can and will look different than us, but that’s okay, we’re all one and the same. These people could inspire you to do better despite all your shortcomings.

Tom Staniford

Let’s start this list with Tom Staniford. He was considered to be one of the skinniest people in the world – you can even see his skull’s structure and shape. Since he was born on July 1, 1989, Staniford has been suffering from multiple illnesses such as poor flexibility in all his limbs, almost-total fixation of his ankles, tissue disorders affecting his hands and feet, low testosterone, diabetes type 2, lipodystrophy, and moderate hearing loss in both ears.

In 2013, he was also diagnosed with MDP syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition. That’s quite a long list of illnesses, but despite all that Tom Staniford has quite a lot of achievements.

Staniford graduated from the University of Renner and then he was awarded Class 2:1 Honours for his LLB European degree at the University of Exeter. He is also into cycling and has been cycling for more than a decade. Staniford’s achievements in cycling are amazing and have inspired people to get into cycling as well.

Kristina Karyagina

Kristina Karyagina’s case is very severe, yet she is still very cheerful and optimistic about her life. Karyagina weighs only 38 lbs. or 17 kg. This extreme condition of hers began when she basically stop eating when she was at high school and she should be around 28-30 years old by now.

The doctor who was treating her had warned her that she could die within a year, Karyagina who is very optimistic about her condition made a joke about why she should be a star in a horror movie.

Her story has brought up so much attention from the public, including a reality TV star, Maria Kokhno. Kokhno has now begun a campaign to help Karyagina to get into shape before her condition gets worse.

Valeria Levitin

Perhaps, one of the most tragic stories was about Valeria Levitin. Levitin was the skinniest woman in the world and weighed only 26kg. And what made her story tragic was because she wasn’t born this way.

Levitin was a healthy woman until her mother pushed her to be thin and put her on an extreme diet. At 40 years old, her condition got so bad that she couldn’t do anything herself. She was desperate to fix her condition but nonetheless, all her effort has been futile.

Lizzie Valasquez

Lizzie Valasquez is probably one of the most famous skinniest people in the world alive. She was born on March 13, 1989, and is now a famous American motivational speaker, author, activist, and YouTuber.

Valasquez was born with an extremely rare congenital disease called Marfanoid-progeroid-lipodystrophy syndrome. This disease prevents her from accumulating body fat and gaining weight. So no matter how much she eats, she will always be skinny.

Valasquez suffered from bullying when she was a student, but she didn’t let her bad experience put her down. She used her experiences of growing up with the disease to tell and motivate others. Valasquez vows to fight against bullying since 2006.

Loana Spangenberg

Loana Spangenberg earned her nickname as “The human hourglass” because of her 20 inches waist. Other than that, her body is very thin at about 38 kg. She claimed that her weight and figure isn’t caused by an extreme diet or anything like that, but it’s caused by her condition known as “fast metabolism”.

Despite her condition, Spangenberg lives her life normally. She is also a famous Romanian model and seems happy with her achievements. Spangenberg also claimed to have tried to gain weight, but it is impossible for her to eat a lot without getting sick.
