"It was unusual for me today to hear Tommy Ramone tell stories that Johnny told so differently, I guess he lied to me. I didn't know he was in another band till a couple of months ago, he lied about that too... I knew to be Linda's friend I had to be friends with Johnny, and he seemed so crotchety and mean and nasty, but I had to to meet Johnny to be Linda's friend...Johnny was a right wing republican like me and hated things, people say I am mean, and Johnny was as mean as me maybe meaner than me, but the nicest people liked him. I mean John Frusciante is like an angel, Eddie Vedder is like a beautiful cloud in the sky, and they like him. Me all I get is a couple of Satanists. Somehow his version of mean was better than mine."
